Great venue, great egg rolls, and great tunes!!!

Great, intimate venue! Band was swingin’!

We have listened to Greg Abate in various venues. The Cultural Arts Center in Yarmouth is a very comfortable environment in which to hear music. You can even bring your own wine, but be sure to bring your own wine, openers and glasses! Greg was absolutely fantastic as were the other members of his quartet (pianist, bass and drummer). He played brilliantly on the tenor sax. But were were also the flute and a soprano sax. He is meticulous in his performance, yet his positive emotion comes through loud and clear. His quartet's ability to change the timbre, the beat and the era of music demonstrates outstanding versatility. In short, Greg preforms consistently with amazing energy, talent and versatility. I have seen Greg Abate perform many times in different venues. Yesterday, once again he played brilliantly at the Music Mansion in Providence. He composes his own original pieces and plays music by jazz stars such as Miles Davis. He is facile with the tenor and alto sax as well as with the flute and the clarinet. Yesterday his trio included Todd Baker on the bass and Diamond Centofanti on the piano who also played very well to a highly appreciative audience. If you are lucky enough to have the opportunity to hear Greg who also plays with a quartet and quintet, go for it. I promise that it will begin and end on a good note! Steve C. Imber, Ph. D.

What an amazing gig! Greg played out of his skin and the audience responded with equally huge enthusiasm and appreciation. ‘Skylark’ was out of this world for serenity and atmosphere whilst ‘Body and Soul’ would melt both. His dexterity and tone were sublime and his warmth and connection with the audience added to the already captivating experience! Greg was backed by 3 great local musicians who deserve credit for their outstanding musicianship and excellent performances. I’d highly recommend any jazz lover to seek Greg Abate out!! 🎷🎶☺️

Last night Greg was at best. He played the flute, clarinet, soprano and alto sax brilliantly! He and Diamond clearly inspired one another. I have seen Greg Abate play on numerous occasions He shined very brightly last night. It was a very special concert. Steve C. Imber, Ph. D.
