Entitled

Entitled is an Austin, Texas four-piece rock band that fuses Gothic industrial elements and Medieval dungeon synth with southern hip hop influences reminiscent of Three 6 Mafia. Entitled mixes heavy underground 808s fused with a live metal band to produce a dark ambient sound that hints of Type O Negative and early Slipknot. Early Entitled music reflected a darker, underground hip hop sound comparable to SpaceGhostPurpp or Ghostemane. In recent years, the band has become known for showcasing theatrical live performances. Bandleader/bass player/vocalist, James Caton, and drummer, Jake Young, both UT graduates from the Butler School of Music in Jazz Performance, form the rhythm section. Alex Gifford plays lead guitar and Zackary Zaleski, AKA Quest.Ion, sings backup while mixing turntables live. In 2024, multiple VHS live performance videos of Entitled dressed in chainmail gained viral success attracting over 500,000 views on Instagram helping to galvanize the band’s support nationwide.
Entitled looks forward to its 2025 Texas and U.S Tours while remaining one of the most exciting theatrical performances in Austin.
