About DARK ROOM - The Ultimate Angels Tribute Show

Formed in Y2K, originally as a 'Hard Rock Cover' Band, DARK ROOM came about through the groups passion for the ANGELS/ANGEL CITY.
DARK ROOM has been going for 24 years. It began from a classic rock band at the end of 2000 with Denis Madjar - Lead Guitar; George Milhe - Bass Guitar/ Backing Vox; Peter Lewis - Drums & Brendan (BJ) Vernal - Lead Vocals (&Guitar).
Not long after the change of name in 2000 to DARK ROOM, Pete left in early 2001 & Nick Hunt replaced him on Drums. Graeme Rowe came in on Rhythm Guitar, (relieving BJ of this duty). As the years went on, members came & went. Paul Miller replaced Denis on Lead Guitar. Mark McElhone & Jim Naish (Drums) filled the chair for a few gigs, Nick returned; Graeme left, David Seibuhr came in on Guitar for the 2004 Cup Eve show. Denis returned; and Rohan Moran joined at the start of 2005 to fill the Rhythm (& 2nd Lead) Guitar role. At the end of 2007, Denis had left and Rohan moved to the Lead guitar role. Danny Borthwick came in on the 2nd lead guitar duties. With-in the next few months Danny would take over the Lead guitar role, and Rohan would return to 2nd lead guitar & Backing Vocals.
In 2010 DARK ROOM, in a 'special' show, performed many of the tracks from 'The ANGELS' 1980 Dark Room album, celebrating 30 years since the release of that album. In the same show, they played tracks for 1990's 'Beyond Salvation' album to celebrate the 20th year since its release. Beyond Salvation was 'The ANGELS' only #1 selling album, with no-less than 4 (strong) singles released from that album. That same show was also a celebration of TEN years for DARK ROOM as a band. The response to this show has been amazing. DARK ROOM was well received on the night, and infact they 'Head-lined' THUNDERSTRUCK with great response, which by any muso's standard is no-mean-feat. The line-up: George Milhe - Bass & Backing Vocals; BJ Vernal - Lead Vocals; Rohan Moran - 2nd Lead Guitar & Backing Vocals; Nick Hunt - Drums; Danny Borthwick - Lead Guitar. While BJ & George have been there for the length of the journey, and Rohan settled in over the previous 7 to 8 years, Nick decided he needed to take care of some personal dealings. Danny also with a 'newie' toddler, and another on the way, made the decision to leave the band. For all of the band members, their life revolves around their families, and as much as they love their music, their families truly come first. In late 2010, as with Peter in the early days, when Nick came in to fill the chair; this time with Nick moving on, Pete returned to fill the chair. Pete had come in for Nick, a few times over the latter years, so the choice of replacement was obvious. (Nick has now returned to playing, and has filled Pete's old chair with the 'new look' HARD COPY). Danny continued, and is still, with THUNDERSTRUCK).
Andy Black, from one of BJ's previous bands (ROCK 'n' ROLL OUTLAW), came into fill the Rhythm Guitar role and after a couple of years with the band, has moved on. Danny has now returned to the Guitar duties.
DARK ROOM limit their shows every year, as the 'real deal' (The ANGELS) are still around touring occasionally through-out the year(s). The CURRENT Line-Up: BJ Vernal - Lead Vocals; Nicco Hunt - Drums; George Milhe - Bass & Backing Vocals; Bruce Mountjoy - Lead Guitar & Backing Vocals;
The 2nd Lead Guitar position is waiting to be filled.
