Michaela Jayde is a Melbourne-based Soul artist who was raised by musician parents who had her performing from the moment she could sing her first note. Since entering the scene as a solo artist in 2012, Michaela has gripped audiences with her powerful voice, delivering fierce and soulful performances reminiscent of the emotion and vitality of old school greats such as Etta James and Aretha Franklin. Further to her passion for bygone Soul and RnB, Michaela's love for contemporary urban genres such as Neo-Soul inspires a fresh approach to songwriting and arrangement. Michaela has performed at some of Melbourne's most well-loved music venues, and alongside some of the city's highly regarded and well respected artists and musicians. After years of performing her music live and building a solid and loyal fan base, Michaela finally made the decision to step into the studio to record her first EP. 'For The Good Of Your Soul' is an exciting and upbeat first offering from the project, enticing its listener with a groove that is hard not to dance along to and a melody that is difficult to get out of your head. And with most of its production being recorded live in the studio, there is a distinctly raw energy that filters through the whole song. The track features some of Melbourne's finest musicians including David Tweedie on guitar, Josh Manusama on bass, Luke Saunders on keys, Carvin Winans on BVs and co-producer of the upcoming EP, Timothy Coghill on drums.
