Phathom

Phathom, originally Section 8, is a 4-piece rock band consisting of Matthew Sikora (Vox, Lead Guitar), Jason Stone (Guitar, Vox), Yannick d'Assignies (Bass, Backing Vox) and Anton Tilgren (Drums, Backing Vox). The band is based in Silverlake, California and has 2 full lengths (Self-Titled 2006 and Zombie Love 2007), as well as 3 Ep's (Destroy the World Before Bedtime 2002, The Halo Effect 2003, and Tunnel Vision 2007) under their belt. In 2011 the band will be releasing its much anticipated new full length album The New Piracy, scheduled for a debut in the Spring. Phathom started in 1999 and has maintained the current line up since 2001. The band performed their last show as Section 8 in 2005 and changed the name to Phathom, signing with Hardline Entertainment the same year. 2006's Self-Titled album consists of beautiful anthems that maintain the high energy of epic hard rock combined with modern day alternative elements. 2007's Zombie Love would bring the band back to it's raw roots consisting of punk influenced anthems combined with grunge influences. 2011's The New Piracy brings Phathom's music full circle exposing their true sound maintaining energetic attitudes but also embracing a more matured sound for a wide ranging audience. Phathom has stayed true to its independent roots and has a strong belief in its DIY philosophy. With no major label support, the band has toured and performed with acts such as Avenged Sevenfold, Strung Out, No Use For a Name, Unwritten Law, and Authority Zero. The band has also participated in the Vans Warped Tour in 2006, 2007, and 2008. The band is currently managed by Ken Seaton under Hardline Entertainment which has been home to the band since 2005. www.phathomband.com
