About Chris Tedesco
Chris Tedesco is a New York City based multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, educator, booking agent, event consultant, and producer. As a musician, regular performances and recording sessions with prolific singer-songwriters including Caroline Doctorow, Jon Divello, Deborah Berg, David Ippolito, and Jim Lampos. As a solo performer, he uses live looping technology to create and build, in the moment, layers of sound on violin and acoustic guitar. In addition to his New York music circle, he is the founder and bandleader of Nashville based country music group The Ranchhands. A five piece touring machine that performed over 800 concerts in 25 countries from 2002 – 2009.
As a songwriter, Ranchhands track “When Everything Changed” was chosen as the feature song on a worldwide CD release named “Stomp Out Cancer” benefiting the fight against Ewing’s Sarcoma. Chris is also a recipient of the Abe Olman Scholarship for outstanding songwriting by the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
As an educator, Chris works with several teaching artists, developing and crafting performing arts programs for libraries, arts centers, and other cultural institutions from California to Maine. Popular and critically acclaimed programs include Joey Leone’s “History of Blues in America“, and Karlus Trapps’ “The Roots of Black Music in America.”
On a bigger stage, Chris performed on stage with legendary screen actress Ann-Margret for nearly two years with the national touring company of Broadways “The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas.” He has also been called upon several times to join high profile artists for one-off performances including Charlie Daniels, Kenny Loggins, Phoebe Snow, Jane Sibbery, The Weepies, Annie Golden, and The Shirts.
