Ø Galaxies Ø

Coming out of bands whose sounds were intentionally complicated, Guitarists/Vocalists Brandon Surber and Nick Ridley sat down and decided they wanted a more simple approach to heavy hitting but beautiful, ambient songs in their new project, "Galaxies" while giving homage to their fascination with the other-worldly. Much brainstorming and recording at Nick's house ended with a few solid demos until they approached Daniel Rogers and later Fred Birch to fill in the gap, finally creating a four piece of experienced and talented musicians but most importantly, creating a close group of friends. Their first demo, "Pinky Promise" mixes simple heavy chordage, flowing bass and hard hitting drums with a touch of the more complex side of Brandon and Nick's writing. The delicate and dreamy feel of the song is an appropriate hint at things to come.
