About Scott Morgan
Scott Morgan has lived and worked in NYC for more than 16 years. Having spent almost 20 years in the technology world, he is now a senior leader in the non-profit sector as an advocate for HIV/AIDS.
With a BFA in music and a lifetime of involvement with music, Scott renewed his interest in singing in 2014 with great passion. Growing up Scott listened to vocal groups like The Fifth Dimension, Lambert Hendricks and Ross and The Manhattan Transfer. Though focused on musical theatre in college, he always had a deep interest in jazz.
Since returning to singing, he has focused on jazz vocals and has studied with such jazz luminaries as Peter Eldridge and Kate McGarry. Scott has played at clubs like Jazz at Kitano, Tomi Jazz, and Somethin' Jazz as well as a Broadway tribute at Urban Stages. His repertoire includes great songs from the American Popular Songbook, jazz classics, interpretations of tunes by The Beatles and James Taylor and contemporary songs by Peter Eldridge and Melissa Stylianou.
His first-rate musicianship is evident in everything he sings and his appealing personality comes through in his natural performing style. His new album “Songs of Life” showcases Morgan’s depth and breadth of style and ability. With tunes from Fred Hersch to the Beatles and Jule Styne, the CD exudes confidence and passion.
"Scott Morgan's singing is warm and loose. He has taste, heart, and
musical intelligence. He's a joy to hear, and I'd love to hear a lot
more from him."
~David Hajdu, music critic for The New Republic
" Scott Morgan's voice wafts gently through your ears, and heads straight to your heart. "
~ Janis Siegel - Grammy Winner and Founding Member of Manhattan Transfer
