Cascade Kinzie

In the summer of 2011 singer/guitarist/songwriter Austin Lillard returned to Durango, Colorado from the University of Colorado at Boulder to reunite with bandmate James Calvet from past projects such as “Now or Never” and “All Nations Under”. Soon after, singer Sierra Lillard and fellow musician Peter Bussian joined in with Austin and James and found themselves transitioning from the musical stylings of Pop-Punk to Acoustic Folk music. However, the quartet aren't your average folk band; the four pull together influences from artists such as Radiohead, A Day to Remember, Kanye West, and Fleet Foxes. The group then dubbed themselves Cascade Kinzie. After securing a footing in Durango, the rest of the band joined Austin at the University of Colorado at Boulder. At the University, Cascade Kinzie won the CU-2012 Battle of The Bands as an alternate band, shocking the Boulder community with a completely new sound that audiences had been craving. Since then, the band has been hard at work writing new songs and performing live shows. You can now find the four musicians strumming Banjos, Mandolins, Washboards, Dobros, and Guitars with lush Vocal Harmonies from the streets of downtown to coffee shops and other venues in the Boulder/ Denver Area of Colorado.
