About The Starved
The schizophrenic soundtrack to an anachronistic breakdown, their ten strings are dragged through a hypnotic melting pot, thick with the strains of The Cramps, Black Sabbath, Siouxsie Sioux & The Stooges to deliver a mix tape that could be used to induct cult members.
This Toronto duo have built up enough neurosis playing with acts such as Black Magick Fox and Machetes to be ill-equipped for any place in normal society, other than making enough noise to keep the voices at bay.
Aberrant post-punk licks and driving bass combine with industrial rhythms and honeyed yet demented vocals to create a sound reminiscent of being felt up by David Lynch.
A musical made by drug addled inmates, at the world’s most ill supervised mental asylum could only come close to the sonic terrorism that is The Starved.
