About Velocirapture
An exciting new band coming up from Gainesville, Florida, Velocirapture are authors of a wondrous blend of instrumental Progressive/Math/Metal mixed together with fresh and inexhaustible doses of creativity – or as they've dubbed themselves – Adventure Prog! Founded in early 2014, the progressive metal act incorporates influences of jazz and post-rock, and even utilizes the trumpet and lush synthesizers in their overall sound. While heavily inspired by Animals As Leaders, Scale The Summit, Chon, and Tides Of Man, and more, Velocirapture manages to craft evocative soundscapes truly their own, spanning from mellow and introspective passages to relentless, crushing and chaotic math-metal onslaughts.
Velocirapture have recently completed work on their second album, aptly titled Planet Fun, which released in September of 2017. Recorded, produced, and mixed by guitarist Alejandro Ellis and mastered by Jamie King (engineer for Between The Buried And Me, The Contortionist, Native Construct), the record combines the expansive ambition and raw approach of their debut with even more massive impact, coherency, and intensity.
