DJ Reality

DJ Reality, has over fifteen years experience in the entertainment business. Not only did she start a showcase that spawned the careers of numerous A-List hip-hop and rap artists, it also gave underground artists (Graffiti, Breaking, DJ’ing, and EmCee’ing) a place to display their skills. That showcase was called The Vortex and ran from 1988-1995. DJ Reality had the opportunity to demonstrate that women can work a mixing board from any angle when she worked as a sound engineer at several New York-based recording studios and produced several radio shows for WNWK-FM (NY) and WJFP-FM (FL). It was through this opportunity that she was able to hone her production skills and produce several major and independent label releases within the hip-hop and dance music arenas. Reality also designed and implemented the retail distribution and radio promotion marketing plans for GrooveAttack Records artists’ Phife Dawg’s (A Tribe Called Quest) debut album, J-Rawls, Grand Agent and Biz Markie. DJ Reality continues to make a lot of noise with her mix CD’s, live shows, club gigs and hosting the highest rated internet radio show with her co-host Dana Da Designated Hata on www.HataRadio.com - The Wallbanger Experience, every Tuesday and Wednesday (8pm-10pm est). DJ Reality also runs an independent label, The Next Phase Entertainment. The first major release from The Next Phase Entertainment has been Brooklyn, NY artist Ladi G with her lead single "So Brooklyn". The label has also released two mixtapes with Ladi G (Starring Ladi G and the Co-Stars & Multiple Personalities") and a collabrative street album with AKT Music Group, called "We A Problem - Vol. 1" which consist of material from Ladi G and AKT artist Ya Boy Skolla. The We A Problem movement has gone viral, and has spawned the hit single "Look At Me", and is in the processes of being picked up by a major label. The next release on the label will be "We A Problem - Vol. 2", and a yet untitled single from Dana Da Designated Hata. Dana is also expected to release a full length album titled “Nobody’s Fan”. This will be followed by DJ Reality’s “7 Days a Week”, a instrumental based concept EP. Reality is currently serving as Vice President of Sniper Squad DJ’s, and is also a member of The Lord Gang DJ’s, VP Records DJ’s, Slip and Slide DJ’s and Future Star DJ’s and is the former President of www.TheBestJams.com , working with these organizations on several projects, including building & programming online radio stations and securing syndication rights for DJ’s on various stations throughout the world.
