I Poemisia sono una band symphonic metal, nata a Napoli nel 2011 da Marco Monaco e Tina Gagliotta che poi completano la formazione con Ciro Scognamiglio, Giuseppe Carillo e Vincenzo Grande. Lo stile musicale della band è incentrato su sonorità che accostano alla musica metal, elementi operistici e sinfonici, resi anche dalla voce del soprano lirico leggero di Tina. Tale dualismo sfocia in una tendenza a marcare il contrasto continuo tra oscurità e luce, tra morte e vita, tra infernale e celestiale, a volte, in maniera quasi grottesca e rispecchiata a pieno anche nei testi di natura sempre ricercata. L’attività live inizia nel gennaio 2012 e vede la band protagonista di svariati eventi tra cui: • 18/marzo/2012 – Magna Grecia Metal Fest @ Duel Beat (NA) • 03/giugno/2012 – Woodstock in Naples con Blaze Bayley (ex Iron Maiden) @ Palapartenope (NA) • Agosto 2012 – Minitour promozionale nei Paesi Bassi • 25/agosto/2012 – Agglutination Metal Fest con Dark Tranquillity, Rhapsody of Fire, Rotting Christ e molti altri @ Chiaromonte (PZ). Nel luglio 2012, la band pubblica il primo EP chiamato “l’Occulto Desìo” che contiene 4 brani del gruppo. Nell’aprile 2013 sarà terminato il primo full-length album della band che avrà il nome di “La Danza degli Spiriti” che conterrà 9 brani uno dei quali vanterà la collaborazione con Sakis Tolis, frontman della black metal band ellenica “Rotting Christ”. _______________________________________________________________ Poemisia are a symphonic metal band, born in Naples in 2011 by Marco Monaco and Tina Gagliotta who complete the line up with Ciro Scognamiglio, Giuseppe Carillo and Vincenzo Grande. The musical style of the band is focused on sounds which combine metal music to opera and symphonic elements, which are also made by the light-lyric soprano voice of Tina. This duality leads to a tendency to mark the continuous conflict between darkness and light, between death and life, between Hell and Heaven, sometimes also in a peculiar grotesque way. This is fully reflected also in the lyrics which have always a refined nature. The live activity starts in January 2012 and the band starred in many events including: • 18/march/2012 – Magna Grecia Metal Fest @ Duel Beat (NA) • 03/june/2012 – Woodstock in Naples with Blaze Bayley (ex Iron Maiden) @ Palapartenope (NA) • August 2012 – Promotional minitour in the Netherlands • 25/august/2012 – Agglutination Metal Fest with Dark Tranquillity, Rhapsody of Fire, Rotting Christ and many more @ Chiaromonte (PZ). In July 2012, the band releases it’s first EP, named “L’Occulto Desìo” (wich translated in English is “The Hidden Desire”) that contains 4 songs. The first full-length album will be finished in April 2013 and will be named “La danza degli spiriti” (“The dance of the spirits”).
