My Brother the Bear (Daniel Bayer) takes an introspective and often autobiographical approach to songwriting. A musician from childhood, Bayer’s songwriting pulls from an eccentric life history. At the age of 25, Bayer enlisted in the US Army and spent the next 6 years living the adventurous, if rarely romantic, lifestyle of a soldier. His songwriting captures the adventure and experiences of those days. His music is willfully melodic and he blends his interests in numerous genres into a cacophony of sound.
