A-natural

The entire story of A-natural would require at least a three part epic novel or a three-season Netflix series to keep its accuracy. So for now, the Cliff Notes version goes like this:

A-natural was born in Plainfield, NJ to two musical parents who raised him on Jesus, Earth Wind & Fire, Dianne Reeves, and PBS. Classical music in high school, Tonéx & Kim Burrell in college, and Brandy & Rodney Jerkins as a young adult would train his ear in preparation for his career as a singer, songwriter, and music producer.

A few bumps along the way: three failed music business partnerships, a failed record label opportunity with Sony Music, and a failed suicide attempt almost cut short A-natural’s musical endeavors. All of this turned around once he went back to basics and got a day job. From then, he would go on to release 4 R&B albums, win two Independent Music Awards, open for T-Pain at a huge music festival, and win a huge songwriting honor from ASCAP. He found opportunities to work with artists from the entire spectrum of the industry such as Mack Wilds, Teddy Riley, Shawn Stockman of Boyz II Men as well as countless independent artists across the globe, culminating into the start of his own indie record label Natural City Music, Inc.

After a hugely and surprisingly successful 2022 for NCM, A-natural is “back in his bag”! His production has reached new levels of confidence that he never foresaw, while his pen-game is better than ever. Stacked with releases from all of the artists on the NCM label, as well as additional music from various artists near and far, A-natural is looking to the future figuratively and sonically as he brings his unique brand of “sci-fi soul” to the world and beyond.
