About The Angels of Gung-Ho
"Angels of Gung-Ho were bloody awesome, an explosive combo of electrified Bluesy Rock and good old Psychedelica" - The AU Review Hailing from Adelaide, the City of Churches, are 'Angels of Gung-Ho', a psychedelic rock outfit that give the one-fingered salute to stereotypes with a modern, electrified stage presence and more retro than Jimmy Page’s aviators. Though the role of extras in a martial arts flick is not part of their increasing list of credentials yet, these self-confessed rebels still pack a punch, bringing the fight to shows that draw out the dazzled spirit from their growing audiences time and time again. "Beginning the night was a brilliant choice for support, 'The Angels Of Gung-Ho'. These guys showed an impressive maturity for a relatively new band and I loved every minute of their performance." - Australian Musicians Network Starting out as the brainchild of popular local frontman, Dusty Lee, AOGH have gone from strength to strength since their debuting show at the Promethean in late 2011. The five-piece have since forged their own unique sound with everything from stylophones, to saxophone solos, to tin whistles and more, capturing the addictive sound on a 4 track EP 'Fire in the Sea' recorded at Hillside Recordings, produced by the ARIA nominated Matthew Hills (Wolf & Cub, The Killgirls, Fire! Santa Rosa, Fire!) in mid 2012. "Angels Of Gung Ho were fucking brilliant and is indicative of some of the great talent coming out of Adelaide at the minute. Definitely a quality act that will continue to gain more attention once the word spreads about these guys." - Rip It Up AOGH have spared no man in the assault of their local stomping grounds in 2013, playing several shows across town in backstreet bars and retro pubs, including a sold-out reunion concert alongside Adelaide legends, The Superjesus for one night only at the Governor Hindmarsh hotel, followed by interstae shows with The Superjesus on their Resurrection tour. A sold out EP launch in Adelaide has lead to more interstate shows for the second half of 2013 and the planned recording of their follow up to their debut ep.
