The Cody Austin Band

The Cody Austin Band Formed in 2010, The Cody Austin Band has risen to the top of the Southeastern Virginia's and Northeast North Carolina's band scene in less than two years, receiving the respect and admiration of sold out crowds and professionals in the music industry. The band is named after Cody Heitzer and Austin Ferguson, childhood friends who reconnected and formed their band in the summer of 2010. Highly motivated, the two quickly rose to the top of the music scene covering country music while also writing/producing their own original songs. Awards and Recognition In 2011, The Cody Austin Band won The Checkered Flag Songwriting and Performance Contest for their award winning single, “Separate Ways”. In 2012, The Cody Austin Band received the coveted “Eagle 97 Country Showdown Contest”, sponsored by Eagle 97, competing amongst 300 other entries. In less than two years, the band has become a well known and welcome addition at The Eagles Nest in the Parkview Shopping Center, Chesapeake, Va., playing to the largest crowds in the history of the “Nest”. They quickly went from being the “opening act” to the main attraction, growing a fan base of loyal followers numbering into the thousands. Opening for some of Nashville’s hottest acts, The Cody Austin Band has opened Steel Magnolia, Love and Theft, Randy Houser, Brantley Gilbert, David Nail, Thompson Square, Justin Moore, Josh Turner, Glorriana, The Farm. Currently, their summer schedule includes opening for Miranda Lambert, Shaggfest and Pharell and traveling to Nashville, TN, as they continue to pursue their dream in country music.
