A Day Amongst Martyrs

A Day Amongst Martyrs was formed by lead singer and guitarist Adam Ortiz in 2008. Adam was always a dreamer who often pictured himself on stage with his favorite bands such as Coheed and Cambria, Lenny Kravitz and Sound Garden. It was these groups that reached Adam's spirit and motivated him to writing music. During the early part of 2008 Adam met up with partner and bassist Ryan Schmidt, soon they both started on a lifetime goal to reach a higher plateau of musical awareness. They have spent countless hours writing material that they felt was beneficial to anyone who would listen to songs about real situations and draw the listener in with a sense of understanding and belonging. Adam and Ryan both agreed on the name A Day Amongst martyrs. Mainly because to them everyone is a martyr in their own right, whether it's a martyr to finances or love or any type or circumstance. The band holds true to any moral value that is full of feeling and conviction. At this point A.D.A.M was almost complete just one more piece of the rock puzzle had to be placed in. Thus the crusade for a drummer started. After countless auditions and headaches later what seemed to be the impossible became possible. This tremendous asset came in the from of drummer Joe Velazquez, whom which was a long time friend of Ryan. His appreciation and open-mindedness to the bands calling elevated it's sound and quality on a broad spectrum. By far Joe's talent, precision and skill is second to none.With years of failed commitment and up and downs. Still trying to find those worthy to join our band. the addition of drummer Darien, we bring back to life the dream and the pursuit of the music dream.All being said and done, three good friends came together in musical harmony and proudly present you with A.D.A.M.
