About We's Us

We’s Us is an American rock band originally from Denver, CO. "These guys can write a really great song that will stick in your head on the way home, but they’ll explore the possibilities of what that song can do with each rendition of it. There’s a plenty of rock, a touch of roll, classic composition and enough funk for the whole family. Diversity seems a priority while a musical willingness continually steers the band into fresh territory." (CO:Jam). While most bands tend to have a standard set each night, We’s Us prides itself on their varying set lists, on-the-fly improvisation, and the ability to move crowds with their original anthems.

With deep and powerful vocals akin to Joe Cocker or Dave Grohl, front man Michael Weeze Dawald also rips epic guitar solos over riff oriented ballads similar to rockers Pearl Jam and Black Sabbath. Michael has toured nationwide since 19 years old and has supported legends ranging from Joe Satriani, Huey Lewis, Tim McGraw, Chad Smith, Sammy Hagar just to name a few. A band full of front men in their own right, Stephen Howell (Piano/Keyboards/Organ) has the uncanny ability to provide visual soundscapes and incredible solos by mixing elements of Billy Joel, Ray Manzerik and Keith Jarrett. Stephen is able to mimic nearly any sound or song that is thrown at him which makes for a very exciting show, especially when the band is feeling up for crowd suggestions. Lem Williams (Drums) is one of the most sought after and respected drummers amongst the Denver scene influenced by legends Eric Moore, Tony Royster Jr., and Ramon Sampson. Lem has toured much of the U.S., performing at legendary venues such as Red Rocks Amphitheater, Levitt Pavilion, Sports Authority Field. Finally, Tim Kokolvosky (Bass) has been groovin’ on bass for most of his life influence by monsters like James Jamerson, Ryan Stasik and Colin Greenwood. You can always find Tim in the pocket, smiling hard and holding it down especially when the band starts delving into deep space. With a collective contagious energetic on stage, it's hard not to find yourself immersed in an experience rather than just good music.

The band has had 3 releases since their debut in 2013. Their first two records, "We’s Us" and "432", were composed with multiplatinum producer Dave Aron (Sublime, Prince, U2, Snoop, and Moe.) in Los Angeles, CA. The self titled full-length received much praise from critics nationwide: "...these guys have a knack for detail, and their combined talent makes for some genuinely deep moments on this debut." (Westword Magazine) Their latest release after a 2 year hiatus, "Scanhope Sessions", was mixed and recorded by Josh Fairman (Sunsquabi, Dumpstaphunk, Motet and Analog Son) in Jan 2017 as a live album. The band filmed the entire recording process, most notably an incredible interactive 360 degree music video for their song, "Rebuilding a Dream". The band continued to tour with the record for an impressive 45 shows and 5 music festivals in their first year back. Their new EP, "Zeus", was produced and performed on by Jake Cinninger (Umphrey’s McGee) and Willie Waldman (Sublime, Snoop Dogg). This record was recorded at Jake Cinninger's personal studio in Niles, Michigan where Umphrey's rehearses and also records.

Some of the notable festivals We’s Us has performed at include the Taste of Colorado, Velorama!, The Underground Music Showcase (UMS), Spread the Word Music Fest, Bong-a-thon!, South Park Music Fest
