Max Wang Piano

Max Wang, a 19 year old resident of Sammamish, Washington, has emerged in recent years as one of the virtuoso pianists in the Northwest region. For nearly a decade, his playing has garnered prizes on both the East and West coast of The United States. At the age of 9, he debuted in Kimmel Center in Philadelphia, home of the Philadelphia Philharmonic, and also won the South Davenport Piano Festival in New Jersey under the tutelage of Elena Berman. After moving to Seattle, Max has studied at the Chopin Academy of Music in Issaquah under Dr. Christopher Bowlby and Dr. Ivona Kaminska. During his fruitful years at the Chopin Academy of Music, Max received awards of distinction at the Chopin Festival of the Northwest, first prize at the CWU Sonata Festival, and first prize in both the Bach and Romantic Festivals in 2009-10. Max has also performed in prestigious centers of the Northwest, including Benaroya Hall and Meydenbauer Center. He has worked in master classes with Dr. Pawel Chęciński, Dr. Alexander Tutunov, Dr. Peter Mack, Dr. Henry Paul Sic-Sic, Dr. William Chapman Nyaho and Dr. Mark Clinton. In the summer of 2010, Max was selected as a finalist in the 2010 Seattle International Piano Festival , which held its final round in Benaroya Hall. In 2012, Max formed a duo with Seattle hip hop artist, Ronnie Dylan.
