In a world where pop artists can pay hundreds of dollars to look like gutter punks and get away with it, one band has come to help those who watch helplessly in disgust forget about the Lil Waynes and Biebers of the world. The Marauding Ghouls. The story of the Marauding Ghouls goes as far back as 2005 when a group of friends banded together for a single purpose: To devastate listeners and breweries wherever they may roam. Originally starting out as a heavily PUNK influenced band, they went the route of the classic CROSSOVER THRASH groups as the years progressed. The band's sheer aggression and insatiable lust for speed and technicality has created the monster that they are today: a hybrid of PUNK, CROSSOVER, POWERVIOLENCE and BLACK METAL. Drawing as much from DRI and MUNICIPAL WASTE as they do IRON MAIDEN and MORBID ANGEL, each song showcases a perfect blend of speed, aggression, and melody. With an arsenal of facemelting solos, crushing riffs, and ludicrous speeds, the band has been causing a buzz within the extreme music communities for the past few years having played with bands such as MUNICIPAL WASTE, 3 INCHES OF BLOOD, BATTALION OF SAINTS, VERBAL ABUSE, and many more. After touring much of the US through self funded tours, the band went in to record their first full length album S.C.U.M. with Ulysses Noriega (OFFSPRING, MARS VOLTA, SNOOP DOGG) in the winter of 2009 and released it under their own DIY label. The album was mastered at MAMMOTH SOUND MASTERING by Dan Randall (MDC, TOXIC HOLOCAUST, GHOUL). They returned to the same studio in 2011 to record their SAWTOPSY EP and released it for free online. The EP garnered the band much praise for its aggressive and melodic sound from fans and critics alike. Popular metal blog THE NEW WAVE OF THRASH METAL has praised the band on several occasions stating that "MARAUDING GHOULS effortlessly blends bits of epic metal, speed, and balls-out rock with their onslaught of fist-flying old-school hardcore." With no stop in sight for this band, they will continue to destroy stages and impress concert goers with their music and Spinal Tap-esque stage humor.
