About Numb Desire

Numb Desire came from the depths of southern Orange County, California in December 2010. Founded with all current members, the band formed through a variety of lucky connections making it as you know it today. We immediately took off learning covers and expanding our musical skill. We debuted with our first gig in a musical talent competition in San Juan Capistrano in the spring of 2011. After two days of competition and no previous experience, we took third place, winning a cash prize and getting our start gigging. We only knew 4 songs; one of which we had learned the night before. From then we expanded our repertoire of songs, writing a few originals on the way. We gigged a good number of parties and small-scale local venues, such as schools or restaurants. We grew tighter as a band and as friends, improving our showmanship and musical talent. By the end of 2011, our experiences had been great, but we did not hit any big venues until 2012. In May we had our first big venue. We played at the House of Blues in Anaheim alongside other rising rock artists. We began picking up speed. Later in June we played the Chain Reaction, again in Anaheim. We then headed into the summer where schedules got a little more difficult with vacations. Yet, we were able to rehearse and write a bit more. This led up to our recording in August where we recorded our four-song EP we call Falling Into Place. This took a great deal of time that summer, preventing us from doing much with gigs other than playing a couple more local shows at bars and restaurants. The next school year hit in September 2012: senior year for most of us. Right away, we booked a gig at the Whisky a Go Go in Hollywood, the greatest gig thus far. Shortly after, we played at the Coach House in San Juan, opening for Hollywood Records artist Cherri Bomb. This was an awesome experience for us with tons of great memories. All this while we were working on the business end of our EP. Soon enough though, in between gigs, school, and other activities, we got it to the distributers to be released at the end of 2012. It is now available to be heard all over the web and can be purchased on itunes and at our gigs. The future for Numb Desire is a little hazy, but we continue to gig and write new material. We plan to send our EP to record labels to see where that might take us. As for anything else, we will just have to wait and see. Lastly, our band name is often questioned, but "Numb Desire" was a random idea. Unfortunately, there's no great story or inspiration. We were thinking up interesting contradictions and word combinations, and well, "Numb Desire" stuck as the unanimous choice. And that's how it began. Falling Into Place EP now available on iTunes!
