Stemming from a nomadic family with roots in both Kenya and Jamaica, Jo was brought up in a house two miles from the nearest neighbour in the wilds of northern Scotland.
Her parents moved constantly in her youth, which saw her spending periods in Turkey, UAE, Kuwait, Sri Lanka and Cambodia.
Now based in Birmingham, England, Jo's debut album Gown quietly received huge acclaim from the UK national press (★★★★ MOJO ★★★★ UNCUT ★★★★ The Independent) and has seen Jo perform on the main stage at TEDGlobal, to over 3 million people live on the BBC World Service and attract an audience of 65,000 Facebook fans from as far afield as Singapore and Moscow.
