About Ruins Music
Several bands use or have used the name of Ruins:
1) Most ´widely known are a tight, calculated bass-&-drum duo that formed in Tokyo, Japan, in 1985. They are usually pigeonholed into the category of prog rock.
The only constant member of Ruins is the drummer/vocalist Yoshida Tatsuya, who has cycled through four different bassists since the band’s inception.
Ruins are known for their rapidly shifting and complex rhythms and for often sounding like five artists instead of two. Both members sing/shout/twist vocal chords in an artificial language created by Yoshida, in much the way that Magma (also a musical influence) used the Kobaïan language.
2) Ruins is also an Australian Black Metal band
3) Ruins is also a Black/Thrash Metal band from Germany (Büdingen, Hesse)
4) There was a new wave band from Mestre called Ruins as well, they were similar to Sparks and they're still active, but shifted to electropop/electrofunk area.
5) Ruins is also a Glaswegian indie rock band.
