At first glance, 20-year-old singer/songwriter Brendan DiStefano may seem like your typical carefree teen roaming the streets of his home town, Hamilton, Ontario. You quickly realize; however, that there’s nothing ordinary about Brendan or his aspirations when you see him pick up his guitar to perform live and win over an audience. Since learning basic recording techniques from his brother at the age of 11, Brendan has been composing and producing his own material. He started out recording tracks in his bedroom and would distribute his music to fans at his middle school. Brendan self-recorded and released his debut EP ‘Brave New World’ in April 2010. The diversity of this record ranges from the rap-infused ‘Party Song’ to the piano ballad ‘For Every Night You're Alone’ and the upbeat reggae-infused number ‘Home’. BRENDN never feels constricted when it comes to his creativity and that’s the best mindset to be in as he continues to grow as a person and an artist. At 16 years old, Brendan’s persistence to find new ways to spread his fresh, upbeat, pop-rock appeal around the Canadian music scene caught the attention of Mitch Masters of Track Avenue Music. A strong relationship quickly built and within months Track Avenue signed DiStefano to Management and Bookings. “What an extraordinary young talent he is. He is honest, well rounded and hard working. Brendan’s popularity has quickly been gaining momentum over the past several months performing throughout Canada and the United States with other popular acts. After playing many live shows and music competitions, his infectious pop anthem ‘Make Out With Me’ caught the attention of Derrick Ross, President of acclaimed music company Slaight Music. Together they reached a publishing agreement allowing for the released of DiStefan’s first single to commercial radio stations across Canada in June 2012. This has propelled him into the spotlight and it’s just the beginning. Through this process, he has had the opportunity to work some great industry professionals including multi Juno award winners Cory Bradshaw & Peter Pantzoures (The Sound Bluntz) who remixed Make Out With Me for radio release. Brendan also had the pleasure of working with Oscar Furtado (Tandemtracks Promotions) who launched his single to radio. Even though things have been moving quickly, Brendan continues to stay grounded as he has a great support team working with him every step of the way.
