Play 4 keeps

Spring 2012 marks the beginnings of Play 4 Keeps, a young funk band hailing from the West island of Montreal. The three-piece band quickly took off, featuring the talents of Jimmy Slappos on Bass, Phil Boucher on Guitar and Chris P Butz on drums. Playing gigs in bars in and around the island of Montreal, Play 4 Keeps’ distinct sound instantly gained a following. Influenced by artists such Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Jimi Henrix, the band released it’s first album “Big Thunder Rumble” in the summer of 2013. Comprised entirely of original songs, co-written by the band members, the album features various songs reflective of the bands energetic qualities. The same year, eager to share their enthusiasm for music with the community, Play 4 Keeps forged a partnership with the charity organization Partage Action; not only playing at various charitable events but also giving a portion of “Big Thunder Rumble”’s proceeds to the organization.
