About Courtney Fortune
"America's next big jazz vocalist." – Genlux Magazine
"Courtney Fortune's "Lost In The Memory" is a revelation.
The Seattle vocalist is too, for [Chris] Walden, who discovered her. In this original song she wrote with the bandleader, she almost overshadows the big band…a moody, swelling force of nature, and definitely a highlight." – Writer Carol Banks Weber on The Chris Walden Big Band "Full-On!" album
Courtney Fortune is an American pop/jazz singer and songwriter whose unique contemporary style and timeless voice has earned her international recognition as a rising star on the jazz and pop circuit. A Seattle native, Courtney began cultivating her crossover style at an early age. In 2009 she released her debut jazz album Speak Love, co-produced by six-time Grammy® nominated composer/arranger Chris Walden. Courtney graduated with a degree in Music Industry from the University of Southern California, where she received the Brian Wilson Musical Achievement Award, as well as Glamour Magazine’s “Top Ten College Women of the Year” honor. Courtney has toured across the globe and currently performs as the featured vocalist for the Grammy® nominated Chris Walden Big Band, which includes her on their newly released album “Full On!”. She has been featured on MTV, recognized by the TED organization and John Lennon Foundation, and has shared the stage with Garrison Keillor. Courtney is currently at work on her second album in Los Angeles.
