Laura Bell

Laura Bell is an indie/pop singer-songwriter based in Sydney, originally hailing from the coastal town of Port Macquarie. Life for this free-spirited 29 year old revolves around friends, family, fun, and of course, music! Music has always been a huge part of Laura Bell’s life, and she realised that she wanted to pursue it professionally when she graduated from the prestigious Talent Development Project in 2005 alongside 11 other talented musicians including Aria Award winner Angus Stone and two-time Golden Guitar nominee Katrina Burgoyne. She began her songwriting journey some years later as one half of the acoustic indie/pop duo, Laura & Bruno. Their effortless harmonies, resonatingly raw lyrics and captivating live shows saw them perform at venues such as White Revolver, Café lounge, live on 99.3FM's "Jumping with James", The Brass Monkey supporting Microwave Jenny, and the Festival of the Sun after party. Laura & Bruno recorded their self-titled EP at Studios 301 in 2012 which they launched at The Vanguard the following year. Although relatively new to the songwriting scene, Laura Bell's sweet and quirky ditties are sticking in heads and gaining praise wherever they go. "Only Girl" reached the Triple J Unearthed indie charts within the first two weeks of its upload, and "Lovely Little Thoughts" was awarded 2nd place in the 2014 Australian Songwriting Contest. Laura Bell has performed at festivals throughout NSW including "A day on the Green" alongside Wendy Matthews, Christine Anu and Tim Freedman and "Wildwood Festival" alongside Lior. Drawing influence from Sarah Blasko, Florence and the Machine, Lily Allen and Joni Mitchell, Laura Bell’s sweet folky tones, honest lyrics, catchy pop melodies, and infectious stage presence make for an enchanting live music experience.
