About The Ghost Storys

The Ghost Storys are a Texas based Psychobilly band. They have completed many chores in their 4 years. At the start of it all GS were playing with bands like, The Peacocks, The Quakes, Zombie Ghost Train, and The Phantom Rockers. Houston was amusing for a while but they wanted to play more. The Ghost Storys were determined to tour the Lone Star State, playing as many shows as possible. Before long they were asked to play many festivals such as "Blood Feast," "Rock Baby Rock it," "Sun City Round Up" and weekenders like the "Hollywood Showdown." Their fans were almost as outrageous as they were, being kicked out of shows before they even hit the stage. It was then when they decided they wanted to make their first album. Signing to a fellow Houstonian, Big E helped release their first album, "Subliminal Messages" (recorded in RBI studio 2007). Not long after releasing the C.D. The Ghost Storys had their first tour to California hitting stops all along the way. In no time The Ghost Storys traveled and played in Mexico entertaining the music deprived folks in Neuvo Laredo, Matamoros and Monterrey. The Ghost Storys took some more time off to start the second album "Planet Probe." By then Hairball 8 records had shown great interest in GS and signed them to their record label. Zteben and Tucker wanted this album to be a work of art. When listening to this diverse album you can expect to hear songs packed with organ, layers of guitar and percussion, horns, the next with hillbilly babble, and another with raw "Neo Psychobilly". With plenty of guests from all over North/Central America and the Psychobilly scene including Los Skarnales, Barnyard Ballers, Pickled Punks and Hellbound Hearse. Zteben even plays drums on the song "Banana Bop" and Bass on all but one song. Spending many weekends, nights, and money, the album met his standards and was released September 09. Throughout the past few years Zteben has recruited a few guitarist to accompany him on stage including, Randy Rost, Roger, Lil Matt, the Kev, Ramon from Holland, Mike Pickled and Chris Barnes. During this time they played with bands like, Long Tall Texans, Levi Dexter, Rezurex, The Misfits, Sick Sick Sinners, Frenzy, Barnyard Ballers, Guana Batz, 12 Step Rebels, The Polecats etc... The Ghost Storys are about to return to Brazil's Psycho Carnival again this year, which was one of their biggest shows to date. Down the road it looks like The Ghost Storys will then travel Northeast U.S., Canada, South America and other parts of Europe. Change in tone has always been a Ghost Storys trend with their music. All upcoming shows will include a new song until the album is ready. Zteben has now moved to Upright Bass with Mike Kirland taking over leads, Tucker is behind them on Upright Drums. Zteben has now contiuned playing with Klax based out of Austin Texas. Talks of a reunion shows with old members and Zteben back on Gtr is in the works...? Old Texas Psychobilly band that played all over the US and some of the Globe...
