About Rabid Zulu
The band was founded in late 2011, when Jarrod and Bek met through a mutual love (fandom!) of The Living End. After discovering they both played instruments and shared many influences, Bek and Jimmy went to have a casual jam in Jarrod's shed. Realising they gelled well together, they started rehearsing their first song "Powerline" without a bass player that very first practice! Jarrod decided to take on the then unnamed band as a side project as they wrote and jammed out a few more songs and covers. This went on while they searched for a bass player with not a great deal of luck! Recruiting Jimmy's dad Ian to play bass temporarily so they could play at Bek's 21st birthday party in March, 2012 was a wise idea, as mutual friend Keith who was attending the party got chatting and over a few too many beverages, it was decided that Keith (who had only ever played guitar and never picked up a bass in his life) would audition for the band. Rabid Zulu was born! With a bucket-load of new songs under the belt and feeling confident enough to leave the comfort of Jarrod's shed, Rabid Zulu hit the stages performing two big first gigs including Bendigo's GIGFEST on June 9. Since then the band has been ever growing, placing third in a ‘battle of the bands’ contest, recording a home demo, One and Only (Only Tonight) which reached number 6 on Triple J Unearthed's rock charts and released a two track single featuring Powerline which has been aired on radio all over Australia and reaching U.S.A. Having recorded and released their debut EP Feed The Creature, Rabid Zulu are working on their debut video and playing shows all over Australia! www.facebook.com/rabidzulu www.twitter.com/RabidZulu www.triplejunearthed.com.au/rabidzulu Debut EP, Feed the Creature, out now!!! http://rabidzulu.bigcartel.com
