About Nudie

After soaking up musical experiences in Toronto, Montreal, Phoenix, Austin and New York, roaming troubadour Nudie now hangs his Gibson guitar in Charlottetown, PEI. Why so much traveling? “That’s what the world’s for” quips Nudie, whose name is a nod to Nashville’s rhinestone cowboy tailor Nudie Cohn. Nudie’s decades long performing career has landed him on the stages of the Philadelphia & Ottawa Folk Festivals, Willie Nelson’s end-of-tour party in 2006, official showcases at Folk Alliance and Americana Music conferences, and recently earned him a support slot for Marty Stuart & The Fabulous Superlatives. His authentic style of music and songwriting is captured on 2014’s self-released album Remember This. It’s the soundtrack of relationships and heartache, delivered with wit and charm, and coated in the sounds of 1960s West Coast country soul. Telecasters and pedal steel abound on the Bakersfield biscuit ‘You Try To Be Right’. Hammond organ pulses on ‘My Sweet Ache’, while mariachi style horns adorn ‘If A Heart Could Tell’ (with guest vocalist Molly Rankin). Nudie continues to captivate audiences with his upbeat and charismatic performances, with plans to tour across North America, and into Europe for the first time in 2016.
