About Rio Debut

Like many of the greatest ideas of all time, Rio Debut was imagined over a few beers and some boredom. Sometime in late 2011 Jordan and Andrew met at a party and decided to play some guitar...Rio Debut was born. Jordan and Thomas had already talked for a long time about forming a band like Rio so quickly the band had the guitars and drums taken care of...now it was time for a bassist. Since Thomas and Jordan had been working with Jake on music all summer, prior to Jordan and Andrew meeting, Jake made a logical choice to play bass, especially since he could also play other roles if need be. Immediately the four planned out some time to get together and just jam, not with any real direction or idea of what it might be. After a few times of getting together just to jam the group noticed they not only had a great time playing music together, but it also resulted in some groovy tunes. At this point the group of four realized they needed some soulful piano to accompany what they had started and Dan Hoffmann was the perfect fit. Thomas and Jake played in jazz band with Dan during high school and knew what he could bring to the group. Rio Debut’s line-up was now set. Since Rio Debut came together they have been working quickly to get together a full cd of tunes and showing people the music they have worked so hard on. It really comes down to all of them simply like getting together to play music that’s fun and everyone can enjoy. Whether they’re listening to music, playing board games in the blanket fort of Thomas' basement, or in the studio recording the finished tunes, Rio Debut is about enjoyment. Playing music because it is fun is really what Rio Debut is about and hopefully that feeling can translate through music to make others feel good. We're making music we love to listen to, hopefully you will love it too.
