About F.K.Ü.
30 years as a band is something worth celebrating, and since the decade of 1981-1989 delivered way over 200 slashers, F.K.Ü. decided to pay a special tribute to both events. The main focus was the year 1981, also known as the ultimate year of the slasher movie genre. In other words, the year that delivered a great deal of slashers that is considered the genres best, even today. The goal with the new album, inspired by Corpse Mania, Night School as well as the timeless classics Halloween II and Friday the 13th Part 2 is to take the listener back to the old days. Back when you and your friends went to the local video store to rent cassettes and not download it from the Internet. Musically, the band wanted to bring the raw energy from their earlier albums back. ”We wanted to make an album where there was no room to breathe. "All killers, no fillers", as they say. We think we achieved that and then some.”
After a deal with Swedish label Despotz Records was signed, Larry, Pete, Pat and Emp entered The Overlook Studio in Gävle to record the bands fifth studio album, named 1981. And it is already rumored to be a horror experience on the same level as those old school slasher classics. So pop the popcorn, call for pizza and bring your friends, this twisted and demented world of knife wielding maniacs has only just started. Let the body count begin!
1981 was produced by F.K.Ü., recorded by William Blackmon, mixed by Lawrence Mackrory & Daniel Bergstrand at Dugout Productions, mastered by Lawrence Mackrory at Obey Mastering and with astonishing artwork by Tom Hodge - The Dude Designs.
