Steely Dan

My wife and I are big Steeley Dan fans. We weren't disappointed. The group came out and started played around 8:30pm and the finale was around 10:15pm. We had a nice time. Thanks.

Classic Steely Dan which is to say the show was legendary!! Although this was the first time I've seen them without Walter Becker, they didn't miss a beat. Even throwing in a surprise to the setlist by performing "Bad Sneakers" from "Katy Lied". Donald Fagen was in fine voice & the band,especially lead guitarist Jon Herrington & drummer Keith Carlock.

I wish I could see this show again tomorrow night. And next week. And the week after that. I was disappointed not to see Steve Winwood, but I understand. Snarky Puppy was a good substitute. I have seen them before, but most of the people around me didn't already know the band - and were happy with what they heard. RIP Walter Becker.

Always a great show! Will see them every time I can! A fabulous set and very talented band playing with Donald Fagan. Can't share any pics because they asked for no phones, cameras, or videos. Love the Pavillion but a few more fans (as in air circulating, not more people) would be great for the summertime concerts - it gets pretty stuffy with that many people and the ever-present humidity!

A fantastic evening. Donald Fagen and the top notch musicians that make up Steely Dan 2022 were spot on. Snarky Puppy opened and they were just what the doctor ordered to open the evening. Outstanding musicians. I would have pics but the phone patrol was working overtime.

The show was great. The parking was poorly marked and very difficult to see. Also, prior to the concert the venues website stated guests could bring in small purses. We were told when we got there they (the purses) had to be about the size of a postcard. We had to trudge all the back to our vehicle to put them in the truck.

Donald and gang still reelin’ in the years. Freddy Washington on bass is the next best thing to Chuck Rainey. Most of the crowd seemed somewhat unaware of Snarky Puppy (not me), but Steely Dan’s influence is palpable: unique arrangements, expert musicianship, rhythmic and funky. You can hear strains of Becker and Fagen in Snarky’s music if you listen carefully; a pleasant treat.

The quality of the music was good. However, I was disappointed with the music set. I have been a Steely Dan fan from the beginning and think a handful of their best music was left out and some mediocre stuff made the set. I don't get it? Why would you play "B" side songs and leave out Rikki Don't Lose that Number, Pretzel Logic, Dr Wu, Bad Sneakers, Do It Again??? Great music but fans want to hear the favorites.

The band was fantastic and it was great that the show was able to be moved to Covelli Center on such short notice due to the weather. The crowd was pretty lame though. I saw people scolding others for getting up to dance for a song or two. I wasn’t surprised but it’s still disappointing.

One of the best concerts I've ever seen. Great musicianship and musicality. I've always wanted to see Steely Dan and now I can say I have. The Venetian Theatre at the Venetian is a beautiful venue to showcase all this talent.

Donald Fagen and his band put on a great show on Thursday night. The brass section were outstanding, backing vocalists, the Dannettes, were superb, drummer, Keith Carlock put on a master class. Their sound was really good and the band gelled very well. A night to remember.

Drums a wee bit too loud in the mix (although couldn’t blame them with Mr Carlock in the chair!) but absolutely a dream come true to see one of my favourite bands live at last - enjoyed every second - Jon Herington’s SG sounded sublime ♥️

Stevie Winwood " gimme somemore lovin'" bought so long ago, played it non stop for years, both he and Donald Fagen are geniuses of our time superb, the same not true of the O2, cramped and Gigantic tickets caused confusion as i was told the doors would be shut at a point

I first saw Steely Dan in 1974 at the Rainbow so you could say I’m a fan! I have seen them each time they have toured, this particular band is the best yet, they have a superhuman drummer in Keith Carlock and. Brilliant guitarist in Jon Harrington the rest of the band’s pretty good as well The cherry on the cake was when they brought on Elliott Randall for the encore of “reeling in the years” Even Donald Fagan seemed relaxed and enjoying it, more chatty than usual A truly magical musical evening, roll on the next time By the way, my first time at the arena, not impressed, lack of seating room Next time please the O2!

Band was phenomenal as usual. A couple of fun surprises on By Popular Demand/Request night but I would have liked a few other songs instead. This is a subjective thing as the audience seemed very happy.

Great concert..venue was accommodating..with the exception of patrons walking back and forth the entire concert ...cameraman was off as far as focusing on highlighting instrument being played as singled out ..solo should have been in the cameras eye. Bands material did not disappoint...

Fantastic night. Donald Fagen and the Band brought us on a trip down memory lane, with a fresh feel to the sound of our youth. Hip,Cool and laid back like a Cheshire Cat. Walter would have lapped it up.

I thought they put on a great show, but was disappointed that the venue didn't utilize the large video screens on either side of the stage. I had lawn seats, and did not have a good view of the stage, do this hindered my enjoyment of the show :/

This is my 3rd Steely Dan concert over the years. Donald Fagen and his band never fail to impress. Having the music portfolio he has is both a blessing and a curse. There's never enough time for Steely Dan to perform every last hit.

Excellent! The acoustics in the concert hall was pristine. These tickets were purchased as a birthday present for my husband, it was a beautiful night and the atmosphere in the hall was perfect. Steele Dan has a groove that no other band can come close to matching. We both loved the show and we hope to see them come to Birmingham again. Dan Fan forever!!
