Steve Forbert

Steve Forbert played to a packed house this Saturday. He was fantastic as usual. Such a great songwriter and showman. This was a benefit concert for The Light Of Day, and all came out to see him and support the cause.

We enjoyed an over 2 hour performance by Steve. He encouraged audience participation to the point of encouraging people to dance as he played some of his Rock and roll numbers. He even gave us an encore. It was a great afternoon.

Steve played to a sold-out crowd for almost two hours non-stop. His energy and talent are phenomenal. The crowd went wild for every song. Watching him up close on the guitar gives me goosebumps. His keyboardist Rob was also very talented!

I have been following this amazing singer/song writer since I was in high school and “Alive on Arrival” blew me away! I’m now in my 60’s and have seen Steve perform live too many times to count from the “Tin Angel” in Philadelphia to “Nell’s Jazz & Blues Club in London, England. The Kennedy Center was another example of his excellence! Thank you and George, Steve! The “Big City Cat” brought it once again! Joe Riley!

First time at Fogartyville. Terrific time. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Steve Forbert never disappoints. Food truck reasonably priced and food was excellent. We will be back. Thanks so much!

Great to see Steve perform again. Intimate gig with probably only 150 people. He even signed my vinyl album "Jackrabbit Slim". Such a privilege

No better way to spend the evening. Across town Willie was celebrating his 89th. God bless Willie. But thank God for Steve. Great venue and perfect host for the evening.

The bands were very good; HOWEVER, it wasn't until the third set that we realized that Steve Forbert had fallen ill and wouldn't appear at all that evening. (James Maddock mentioned it during the third set.) There had been a note mentioning Steve's absence and other things, as you walked in, but we missed the note. I was so bummed and so disappointed because I was looking forward to this so much. After initially feeling sorry for myself, I thought, heck, stop feeling sorry for yourself and think positive thoughts for Steve and pray for him to overcome this medical emergency. I traveled from NYC and was staying overnight after the show, so it was a big deal for me. Near the end of the third and final set, James Maddock again mentioned Steve and said that he'd heard Steve was feeling better, so that was good to hear. I'm hoping that the medical emergency was nothing serious and that Steve's feeling great. The venue was nice, and the staff was nice.

What a show, travelled down from Newcastle for the show and it was great and got to meet Steve after the gig to boot, superb!

Great musician and the consummate singer/songwriter. Looked like he was having as much fun as the audience. Two thumbs up! Also he signed a copy of one of my favorite albums of all time.

Legend, fantastic night out old classics and tracks from new album, plus songs played just from the audience asking. Just great night had !!!

Hardest working man in folk rock..audience was really into his performance and he really connected with us throughout. He was back home in Mississippi and enjoying the audience turnout.

Despite his cold and the venue, Steve produced a mamouth set of material both old and new as only a musician of his caliber would. Shame about the layout of the venue. The raised area at front of stage was standing only which made it very difficult if you were in the seated area to engage fully with his performance.

Steve Forbert was better than he use to be. We loved the super talented new young musician with him. The venue ( new to us) was small and wonderful.

Excellent. I have not seen him since the last millennium and he did not disappoint in fact he lifted. And Shannon got me going

Steve was spectacular as usual. However his bandmate Kami Lyle was an unfortunate choice.. Off key vocals, dubious trumpet skills, weird delivery and she stretched to reach the musical demands placed on her. Would have been a whole lot better without her. Find another provocateur with better musicality.
