Art Morera

Art Morera is a Cuban American hip-hop recording artist and producer, born and raised in Miami, Florida. Art fell in love with hip-hop culture in high school, converted his natural drawing talents to graffiti and his skill with words into rapping. Writing poems turned into writing verses and spectating freestyle cyphers turned into Art initiating the freestyles in high school and local hip-hop events all over South Florida. Art Morera freestyle battled for a few years under the moniker ‘MC Descendant’ before he retired that name, and went under ‘Eqwote’ for a few years as a member of a group called “DMG” (Diverse Music Group) which almost led to being signed with a major record label in New York in 2007.


The majority of his music focuses on his life delivered with an autobiographical narrative. Most songs focus on his introspection regarding the life events that lead him to leaving Miami, in pursuit of stardom in California, and not knowing what was ahead of him. The unprecedented journey opened up new adventures both with a couple friends, his girlfriend at the time, and his dog Morty; as well as by himself.


He wrote most of his songs while driving long distances, smoking a joint or 2, and reflecting on his past, present and aspirations for his future. His brand Twelve AM was established in 2011 as a pinnacle moment in his life and career - a new beginning.
