Persian Pelican

Persian Pelican è un progetto musicale di Andrea Pulcini, marchigiano d'origine, con alle spalle una lunga permanenza a Roma e Barcellona. Grazie ai primi due album These cats wear skirts to expiate original sin (2008) e How to prevent a cold (2012), interamente autoprodotti, inizia a farsi conoscere dal pubblico per il suo songwriting intimista e malinconico ed i suoi testi che raccontano di piccoli melodrammi quotidiani. Ad aprile 2016 esce il suo terzo Lp intitolato Sleeping Beauty, prodotto grazie alla collaborazione di tre etichette italiane quali Bomba Dischi, Malintenti Dischi e Trovarobato. Un disco di alt-folk solare ed intenso, con sonorità più elettriche e piccole scie psichedeliche che vede nel mondo onirico uno strumento utile per trasformare il dolore di qualsiasi forma di separazione. L'album vede la partecipazione di numerosi ospiti tra i quali spicca l'inconfondibile voce del folksinger americano Tom Brosseau. Negli ultimi anni ha intrapreso un'intensa attività live insieme alla sua band che lo ha portato a far parte del Liverpool Sound City Festival '13 e a dividere il palco con Paolo Benvegnù, Rover, Father Murphy, C+C=Maxigross, The Burning Hell, Dawn Landes, Sylvie Lewis, Iosonouncane, honeybird & the birdies. ENGLISH VERSION Persian Pelican is a ‘genetically modified folk’ project conceived by Andrea Pulcini. His debut album, “These Cats Wear Skirts ti Expiate Original Sin”, was released in January 2009, then he moved to Barcelona for two years playing in a lot of clubs with other catalan musicians. The second lp “How to Prevent a Cold”, composed there and recorded in Rome, was self-realised in December 2012. Delicate acoustic environments and electric textures are tied with violent lyrics about everyday life perversions in human relationships. A panorama in which sometimes love is colder than death. His third album “Sleeping Beauty”, will be released on 19th April 2016 by Trovarobato, Malintenti Dischi and Bomba Dischi. Persian Pelican is the musical project of Andrea Pulcini. Pulcini is an Italian musician who was born in Ascoli Piceno but has also called Rome and Barcelona home. Thanks to his first two self-released albums, These Cats Wear Skirts to Expiate Original Sin, (2008), and How to Prevent a Cold, (2012), he started to gain recognition for his initmate, melancholic and acoustic songwriting, as well as his lyrics that describe the melodramas of everyday life. Pulcini’s third LP, Sleeping Beauty, came out in April of 2016. It was produced with the help of three Italians labels; Bomba Dischi, Malintenti Dischi, and Trovarobato. Sleeping Beauty is an album of sunny and intense alternative folk music. It features the electric guitar and evokes phsychedelic moments. Over the past few years Andrea Pulcini as Persian Pelican has played on many stages. He has shared those stages with the likes of Paolo Benvegnù, Rover, Iosonouncane, Dawn Landes, The Burning Hell, Sylvie Lewis, C+C= Maxigross, Father Murphy and honeybird & the birdies.
