Morris and The Assembly performed well but this venue needs improvement. Talent - be advised - each artist is compensated by the door and who attended for THEM. The woman at the door never asked therefore there is no way to track attendance for the artist. Talent - have your own person counting! Also, the sound was substandard. Artists were asking for levels to be adjusted and he did not know what he was doing. We couldn’t hear the vocalist we were there to hear! Beware!

About Morris Mills
The answer to the music industry, Morris is an acclaimed singer and songwriter. He writes, produces and performs his own music. Originally from Texas his family moved to Chicago when he was just five years old. In a time where music artists are being guided to sound the same, Morris remains original and has stayed the course giving homage to the sounds of the past while infusing new sounds of modern day technology. In a ‘singles’ driven industry Morris maintains that album’s are still relevant. Believing that one can not be judged on ‘singles’ alone but by the breath and the depth of one’s artistry. Morris has remained authentic but yet has a familiar sound that crosses genres and his peers have dubbed his music as Funk/Roll. He holds himself to the gold standards of yesteryear legends like Prince. Music fans can feel Morris’s passion for music and in concert they can see his attention to the details of performing and connecting with the audience.
In 2005, he recorded his first cover titled, “Love and Coffee.” Two popular singles were released titled, “Hello” and “Steppin out 2night.” Even in his earlier days Morris always found ways he could reach the general public. This would included playing at venues like the Double Door and the Hard Rock Cafe. His professional music nominations have included; "Beautified" for "Best Song" at the Soul-Patrol awards[1] in Philadelphia, "Best New Artist" at 2012 & 2013 Raw Awards[2] at the Chicago Independent Music awards.[3]
In 2006, Love Brand Records president Stephanie Levine picked up the album after discovering Morris on social media.
.
In 2014, seeking greater exposure to the music industry Morris made the decision to move to Los Angeles. Remaining passionate about connecting with his fans he headlined at the following venues; The Mint, The Whiskey A GoGo, Boulevard3, Teragram Ballroom and Capri Theater. Morris also remained committed to producing his music and in partnership with Interscope Records in 2011 he digitally released his single “Beautified” followed by the album in 2016 titled,“ Beautified.” Morris’s third album was released on January 9, 2018 titled, “Protege” which was his way of paying homage to his idol the legendary ‘Prince.’ This album debut at the The Capri Theater in Minneapolis.
Morris’s fourth studio album is titled, “The Dawn.” It is a funk rock driven record that explores spirituality, vulnerability and social justice with lyrics that contains explanation and demand of injustice in his single titled, “Freedom.”
