About Rock Paper Dynamite

Longstanding Omaha 4 piece Rock Paper Dynamite (RPD) is excited to announce the release of their much anticipated long-player Teeth. Much like their previous outings, Teeth was recorded and produced in Omaha with local music veteran Curt Grubb (The Kind, Grasshopper Takeover) at Grubb Inc. Recording & Production. Recorded in the spring of 2015, this album serves as a departure in terms of musical growth and songwriting yet remains true to the spirit that has made RPD a local favorite. Along with sharing many a bill with local acts such as Moses Prey, John Klemmensen and The Party, Snake Island and Two Drag Club, RPD has shared the stage with national heavy hitters like The Flaming Lips, Bob Mould, Matt and Kim, The Thermals, Those Darlins, Joan Jett and The Blackhearts, .38 Special and Ben Kweller. RPD has become known for their raucous live shows and exhausting musical performances. Consisting of Joseph Janousek (vocals), Andrew Janousek (guitar, vocals), Trey Abel (bass) and newcomer Geoff Boyer (drums),(with the exception of Boyer) RPD has been performing original compositions in the Omaha/Lincoln music scene since 2007, playing regularly at distinguished venues like The Waiting Room Lounge, Slowdown, Duffy’s, Vega, The Zoo Bar and Benson gem The Barley St Tavern. The four piece has been awarded and acknowledged for their original rock and roll style (a unique gumbo consisting of stripped down garage rock, high energy southern rock, and pop influences), garnering nominations from the Omaha Entertainment and Arts Awards for Best Rock Band (2011, 2012, 2013, including taking home the honor in 2011), Artist of the Year (2012, 2013) and Album of the Year (2012). The band’s previous 5 EPs were also recorded with Grubb and quickly became crowd favorites, moving briskly off merch booths and into the homes and cars of RPD’s loyal following: the dynamic self-titled Rock Paper Dynamite (2007), Days of May (2009), Railroads (2010), I’ve Seen Days (2011) and RPD (2013). Teeth continues right where the band left off with its last recording: jangly and memorable guitar riffs, impassioned vocals, mature and personal songwriting and a rhythm section that drops grooves with regular grace and poise. Sure to be gracing many Best of lists this year, Teeth showcases a band that has grown as musicians, a four-piece finally comfortable in their own musical skin. Full of peaks and valleys, rises and falls, wild hairpin turns and a rollercoaster ride’s worth of musical surprises, the new record just sounds like a band who really loves what they do and also loves what their music does for others. You can hear the fun the band is having when they play and on Teeth it is downright infectious. Rock, southern rock, garage rock, power pop band from Omaha, Nebraska.
