Michael McDermott is a criminally underrated songwriter and performer. We look forward to mid-March every year when he plays Hey Nonny for 3 days. Friday’s show was brilliant as always. Intimate setting. Minimal people on stage. His wife Heather Horton is also a talented vocalist and violinist, and her presence was definitely felt. The show was, as always phenomenal. Great song choices, outstanding vocals, interactions with the crowd. Can’t wait to see him again. Only regret was that I could only attend one of the three shows.

McDermott is the best singer/songwriter on the planet, no doubt in my mind there. And his live performances with embedded storytelling are incredible. See him ASAP! The venue is cool, very intimate. Not fun to get to from Berks County on a Friday night but that's Philly. The beer menu is good, the food menu a bit lacking in my humble opinion, but that's me - you can make up your own mind on that.

Halloweensteen is always such a treat! I had my doubts about the venue but I was wrong! Robert’s Westside was a great location for this show. Michael and company delivered a high energy performance of Springsteen classics plus a little Petty and a few surprises. Robert’s Westside is a great addition to the area as well!

Michael is unbelievable, earlier in the year Michael sent my wife a heartfelt handwritten note for better health, unfortunately Debbie passed away and this was the first show I have been able to attend since then. Some of his songs were especially meaningful to me and after the show I was able to meet him and personally shake his hand and thank him for that note, it was a very special and moving moment. Thank you Michael!

Back in the day when Michael McDermott first hit the scene, people tried to label him as the “next Springsteen”. While the comparison is flattering, it’s also nice to be respected as an artist and songwriter in your own right. But for one night only, Michael and his band embrace embrace those old comparisons and deliver a full evening of mostly Springsteen covers with a little Tom Petty too. The result is a fun raucous night of joyful music. This band is tight, the covers are legit. I will be back next year! The opening act is Devin Scott Hodge, a local singer songwriter who also embraces the spirit by doing covers of Michael’s songs. He treats those songs with reverence and finds a way to make them his own. All in all, just an amazing evening!

Incredible show... His new album “Orphans” is so deep, raw, and authentic. I agree with Steven King that he is the greatest living singer/ songwriter... He has aged well like a fine wine.. Incredible that his last 3 albums are his best complete works... His depth and clarity have helped me through some recent trying times. I so appreciated that he came out and talked to the audience after the show...You will not regret seeing him in concert. Just go see him.
