Kosmopyria entstand im Juli 2014 aus der Spaltung von Obscura Religio. Die gemeinsame Bandgeschichte ragt ins Jahr 2003 zurück und war gezeichnet von zahlreichen Gigs innerhalb Deutschlands - Highlights waren Auftritte am Metalfest 2012 & 2014, Wolfszeit-Festival 2013, Summerblast-Festivals, Unleashed uvm. Im Jahr 2011 erschien unter Obscura Religio das Album "Rache Sitzt Tief", das Kosmopyria weiterhin mit sich trägt. Im April 2015 erschien das neue Album unter dem Bandnamen "Kosmopyria" obscurareligio@web.de
