Infernal Instinct

Emerging from Des Moines, Iowa, Infernal Instinct fuses metalcore aggression, thrash intensity, hardcore energy, progressive experimentation, and death metal brutality into a sound that refuses to stay in one lane.

Founded in 2021 by guitarist Ryan Davis and vocalist Michael Fine, the band quickly recruited guitarist Sebastian Petty. After enduring several lineup changes in its early years, Infernal Instinct solidified its current lineup with the addition of drummer Lucas Brown and bassist Dan Inselmann in late 2023 evolving from basement jam sessions into a full-force live act.

Following the release of the singles “Transcending Madness” and “The Virtue,” Infernal Instinct rapidly became a staple of the Des Moines heavy music scene, sharing the stage with acts such as The Word Alive, tX2, Brokencyde, and Micawber.

With new music set for release in 2026, Infernal Instinct continues pushing forward with no intention of slowing down.
