About Mathew James White
“… bursting with positive energy” – rp-online / “hooked from the first song” – Mercury
If you like the music of SYML, Vance Joy, George Ezra und Neil Finn, you’ll almost certainly appreciate Kiwi dream folk specialist Mathew James White. The New Zealand born, German based Singer Songwriter is often compared to all of these artists with his repertoire of hook filled material. His songs can be heard on Netflix, Amazon Prime, DMAX (Germany) and CNN to name a few.
He’s focused a lot of his energy on touring Europe, building up a strong fan base over the years, often playing to sold-out houses. Mathew played at the Blue Balls Festival 2017 in Lucerne alongside artists such as Davis Gray, Peter Doherty & Jose Gonzalez. While he still tours, his focus has turned more to writing and composing for TV resulting in his recent offering Only The Light – an alt-pop uplifting anthem being placed on the Netflix mini series “From Scratch” (episode 6) and “What We’re Made Of” – a cinematic spirit lifter about being courageous receiving several spins on Radio Bremen and a placement on the DMAX channel in Germany.
He has released seven albums to date, two he made available exclusively from his website – Getting Through This With Positive Sounds (Bonus Special Edition in 2021 and Old and New in 2019 – while his fourth “I’m Thinking of You” (2017), is his most personal work to date, hugely influenced by the loss of his first son in 2014.
