About The Dead Ponies
The band was formed almost by accident in New Jersey in December of 2011 by singer Sammie Eccentric and guitarist Joe Mo in Slo Mo. The odds were against this band ever forming at all. Really, it should have never happened in the first place. Yet somehow, it happened anyway. Sammie, previously the singer for Annie's Grave, continued writing songs years after parting ways with her old band, waiting for the ideal opportunity to start her own band. Joe had just disbanded The Argonauts, his previous band, and was ready to pursue a new project. Joe found Sammie via and online ad, and henceforth came the best thing to ever come out of Craig's List. The Dead Ponies were born. In January of 2012, they found drummer, Andy the Mask, on Facebook. Andy drummed for The Dead Ponies for a little over a year before parting ways. In April of 2013, Brian Pineapple (formerly the drummer of The Argonauts, who had been temporarily filling in on bass for The Dead Ponies) briefly joined the band, not as a bassist but as a drummer. After leaving, he occasionally filled in here and there. They're still on the hunt for a bassist and a drummer. In the mean time, they have a rotating cast of fill-in musicians. The Dead Ponies are not your ordinary punk rock band.
