Dex played solo acoustic. Despite that, he was still pretty intense. Coolest moment was during his last song. He stepped off the stage and played amidst the fans. He finished the song with a flourish, handed the guitar to a random person and walked out the exit door.

Dex was absolutely amazing. He came, and he delivered. He did his utmost to give an amazing, intimate performance. However...
The venue, King of Clubs, was abysmal. I doubt that they did any promotion for this event at all. Presale tickets were not available for purchase, only being able to purchase at the door in cash. (Heck, they don't even have their website spelled properly on their Facebook page.) Dex - a rockabilly legend - hit the stage with 14 people in the place, topping out at 30 by the end, and most of them didn't give a crap. They were talking loudly the entire time. I was only ten feet from the stage, and the conversation eventually was so loud, I struggled to hear Dex. The staff (one person, who hadn't been there long, seemed to be thrown to the wolves) didn't do anything to try and quiet the room so that their performer could be heard. Dex left the stage justifiably angry. I honestly don't think I will come back to this place.

About Dex Romweber
Dex Romweber is nothing less than an icon of the American music underground. He pioneered the template for the stripped to-the-essentials guitar/drums duo format that influenced the White Stripes and the Black Keys in the world famous Flat Duo Jets and then again with his sister Sara in the Dex Romweber Duo. Now he is back solo with a new tour and record called "Carrboro" on Bloodshot Records!
"Dex Romweber was and is a huge influence on my music. I owned all of his records as a teenager, and was thrilled at the fact that we were able to play together recently on tour. His attitude towards music is remarkable. And his songwriting, along with his love of classic American music from the south, be it rockabilly, country or R&B, is one of the best kept secrets of the rock n roll underground." - Jack White
