Andrei Balasa

Born in Romania, Andrei began playing piano at the age of 6 for three years. After this, he studied violin for an year. At the age of 11, Andrei decided to become a guitar player. At the age of 12, in the year 2007, he formed the band PhenomenOn a band which he continues to lead to this date. The band quickly became one of the most respected young bands in Romania. He graduated the music high school “George Enescu” , currently is a student at classical guitar at Arts Academy from Cluj and composition at University of Music from Bucharest. Andrei received guidance from some of the most important guitar players in Romania. He also studied one hour with Paul Gilbert and Dave Martone, two of the best guitarists in the world, Andrei was very appreciated by the guitarists. He attended master classes of Steve Lukather , Doug Aldrich , ,Mattias IA Enklundh, Guthrie Govan , Jose De Castro, Richard Halleback , Andy Timmons, Michael Angelo Batio, Jennifer Batten, Michael Lee Firkins, and many more. Also, at the festival “Ziua Chitarelor” he accompanied the guitarists Guthrie Govan, Mattias IA Enklundh and Jose de Castro. He played alonside AG Weinberger in the show "Acadeaua" In 2009 alongside PhenomenOn won the title of Best Romanian Band at “Global Battle of the Bands”, afterwards represented Romania at London, where he was very appreciated by Global Battle of the Bands president, Tore Lande. Alongside PhenomenOn , he was on some of the most important stages in Romania and played with some of the greatest bands in Romania and also with famous international artists such as TM Stevens, Stevie Salas, Delmar Brown, G Man, etc. In 2010 the Band released the album “Victims of Changes” following a national and international tour. Currently the band it’s promoting a new single “United” and are preparing to release the video with “Castel Film Studios” which they worked with Nicholas Cage on “Ghost Rider”, Kevin Costner, and more.
