Diamond Rio

They were fantastic as far as I could tell. The sound was not great. If you weren’t on the stage right up near them it was very hard to hear what they were saying or singing. It’s surprising that a venue like that wouldn’t have a better sound system.

The show was awesome! They still sounded great! Some concerts I've been to, the singers haven't sounded as good as they've aged. I especially enjoyed the big screen, they showed videos of the group as they looked when the songs came out. I've been to see them before, and if they are ever back in the area, I'll go see them again.

The show was UNBELIEVABLE! Just love these guys and gal. The only disappointment was that our seats were not where they showed on the map. We should have been dead center instead we were to the left side of the front stage. Paying that much for a second row ticket I wasn’t too impressed so hopefully they set chairs according to the map layout next time. Otherwise I love concerts at this place, this is the first time I’ve ever attended a seated concert here. I loved the video background for Diamond Rio, never seen that before. Great concert to end the year with!

Having been a fan since 91' and never seen them, my expectations were high. Diamond Rio did not disappoint. I just a band live by the connection I feel. Though I know my experience was not unique, I did feel like the show was being played just for me. I'm sure many others there felt the same way. I drove from Dallas to see Diamond Rio, and am decideding when my next road trip to see them will be. G.

The Amelia Earnhardt Festival in Atchison Kansas, Friday July 19 was FABULOUS ! The days weather was perfect for a gathering, the city of Atchison was clean and everyone working and supporting the event was happy and helpful. The entertainment, including Diamond Rio was TOP NOTCH. The concert part of the festival was the biggest draw, other than all of the food trucks for different tastes and drinks. But, Diamond Rio stole the show. I had seen then once before about 2 Christmas's ago, at the C****o in Miami Oklahoma, in early December 2022. Their show is one of the best. Even having the fill in guitar player, who is only 16 years old, the songs sounded just like they were being played on the radio, when they were first released. I will be coming back to this festival in the years to come, even though this was my FIRST one, mostly due to having Diamond Rio in attendance for the Friday night band. Nice work to everyone who helped put this festival on. It was a success from my point of view, and it seemed like everyone was having a wonderful time. Thanks Atchison !

Their songs were performed very well, and close to the original versions. The lady added to the band is great on the fiddle, mandolin and vocals. Would have rather they had played more of their great original songs instead of forfeiting them to play covers of other bands. Was also hoping to hear more from their gospel album. But overall, it was a good concert in a nice venue. Their harmonies are amazing, and I liked they were bold enough to say that they are all believers.

No complaints from purchasing tickets, to the venue, to the band itself. We purchased tickets online. There were no hidden transaction fees/taxes. Tickets were very reasonable priced. It was easy to add the e-tickets to my iPhone wallet. The venue was clean and smaller. No bad seat in the house. The acoustics in the theater made the band sound amazing. Diamond Rio sounded just like they did 30 years ago! Great experience.

Diamond Rio is such a talented band. While I really enjoyed the concert, I must confess that I was a bit disappointed with the set list. The band played a few hits and then played a lot of Christmas songs. The Christmas songs were nice, but I would’ve preferred more of their hits with just a few Christmas songs. . Nice vibe and festive atmosphere. Honestly, we were disappointed overall.

I've seen these guys a few times but this concert was nothing but 32 years of hit after hit! Marty's vocals have not wavered at all and the band is tight! Whoever opened (peyton somebody) sucked, and I felt nothing she sang would be a hit.

It is supposed to say 5 stars! It was the absolute best!!! They were having a good time on stage, which made the show even better! All their vocals were spot on and so enjoyable! I would see them any chance I get!!❤️🥰

The guys were amazing as always and they played so many of their classics and even some 70s rock. The 2 newest members (on fiddle and drums) were just as awesome. Loved every minute of it ❤ and so glad I got to see them in person!!

I have loved Diamond Rio since 92 when I heard ‘Meet in the Middle’. It was the song that brought me to country music and to see Diamond Rio in that intimate setting was such an amazing experience. The show was amazing and thank you to Dana and Micah for coming off the bus to talk to us. This is why I love country music. The amazing music and the amazing people.❤️❤️❤️

The best show!!! Love seeing them there at Branson!! Played ALL THE FAVORITES and interacted with the crowd with lots of energy laughs waves and smiles!! So good to see them happy and still love making their music!! The new members are awesome and they all blend together perfect!!! They are the BEST and my favorites!!!

Diamond Rio was awesome last night in Burkesville Kentucky! I never knew how many of my all time favorites were sung by them! The location was easily accessible very pleasant and the entire evening was quite memorable! Thanks for letting me know about this event!

I really enjoyed seeing Diamond Rio live. I really wish they would have stayed and autographed things. I wanted to buy the autographed guitar and take a picture with the whole band but they were on a tight schedule. Love me some Diamond Rio.

Diamond Rio: 6/6/23 “Tuesday evening marked my 5th time seeing Diamond Rio, a free outdoor show in Spartanburg part of BMW’s Charity Pro-Am. What’s not to like about a FREE show especially when the weather at showtime is a perfect 78° and mostly sunny! We had avoided a band of heavy showers that moved just South of Morgan Square where the concert was held. The band holds a place as one of my favorite 90’s Country groups with harmonies similar to that of same-era favorites Restless Heart, Lonestar, Little Texas, and BlackHawk. With 10 studio albums and 33 charted singles there would be no lack of material for the Grammy and ACM/CMA award winning Grand Ole Opry members. I had been aware of a change in line-up with two new members since last seeing them in September 2021 and was looking forward to theirs and my personal debut. Alongside the frontmen from the 80’s Marty, Jimmy, Dana and Dan, Carson McKee (fiddle, mandolin, formerly Pam Tillis’ band) and Micah Schweinsber (drums formerly The Crabb Family) would complete the sixsome. One year to the day prior the town had shut down the streets for a performance by hometown natives Marshall Tucker which was massive success. Not being sure what size crowd Rio would draw I purposed to arrive an hour in advance of the opening band and when I took in the scene it was pretty intimidating. The Square was already completely full, but choosing the weak side I weaved my way up towards the front of the stage to stake my claim in the second row position. The stage itself was impressive for an event of this type and large enough for the band to rig its large venue lighting, and it provided ample room to move about with ease. At 8:30 Diamond Rio took the stage for a 1 hour 13 minute / 13 song performance beginning with a pair of #2’s ‘Unbelievable’ and ‘Norma Jean Riley’. The set length (not uncommon for a free town sponsored performance) was a little deceiving in the fact that it did cover a lot of ground —three of the 13 songs were constructed as medleys of hits. Right out the gate there was a technical issue as lead vocalist Marty Roe’s microphone didn’t have a feed at the opening line of the song. Puzzled he turned to his bandmates as the monitor feed of what he had just sung played over the main system. Dana Williams (bass guitar) quickly improvised on the harmonies and it wasn’t but a moment before the crew got things corrected. With an ‘’Ah we’re in South Carolinaaaaa’ by Marty Jimmy strapped on his Maybelle Carter Telecaster and kicked off the first of two all hits medleys: Nowhere Bound / Night Is Fallin' In My Heart / That's What I Get for Lovin' You / Imagine That / Sweet Summer / Wrinkles. Marty addressed the crowd, ‘How’s everybody doin tonight in South Carolina. I’m so glad to see y’all, we dodged the rain, what a beautiful day what a beautiful bunch of folks. We love it down here in this part of the world cause we know we got a lotta great country music fans, ain’t that right?’ Next on the set were 1991’s #3 ‘Mirror Mirror’, ‘One More Day’ and ‘Beautiful Mess’ both of which shot all the way to the top in 2000 and 2002 respectively. Just prior to their second six song medley Marty explained the band’s reasoning behind the conglomerations. ‘We have so many hits that we can’t get them all into one show, what a great problem …this is our attempt to kinda take y’all on a little trip down memory lane, reach way back in the ninety’s. Y’all remember the ninety’s?’ With the audience singing along to every word, it became obvious to them that we did! With the stage lights red, white, and blue aglow Marty shed the backstory on the next song ‘In God We Still Trust’. ‘This song is about God and country, two things that matter a lot to us.’ At first, he said, they were hesitant to cut it ‘cause it may offend some people’ and hence they never released it as a single. It has now become one of their most requested songs and was sung this evening as a tribute to our vets. It was now Dana’s turn to address Spartanburg, ‘It’s a good night to be in South Carolina, that’s all I got to say! Well we’re right downtown ain’t we? I mean we come down here baby and they shut the streets down.’ He wasn’t exaggerating, the overhanging ‘Main Street’ sign was right in front of where the stage was positioned. ‘We got any fans of seventy’s rock and roll? Wake them old people up man!’ Jimmy O picked up his 5 string and began a bluegrass style banjo driven rock medley: Layla / Walk This Way / Carry On Wayward Son / Born To Be Wild. The compilation was perfect for Carson to showcase both her fiddle and mandolin skills with mini-solos as well as demonstrate her tenor vocal abilities. Jimmy encouraged her all the way. Speaking of Jimmy, the evening wouldn’t be complete without a solo on his custom built yellow and black taxicaster B-Bender which he amazingly delivered sandwiched between two #1’s ‘Meet In The Middle’ and ‘How Your Love Makes Me Feel’. True to tradition ‘Bubba Hyde’ was the encore, the entire Square on their feet! Noticeably missing from the set were their #2 ‘In A Week Or Two’, #5 ‘O Me O My’ (Sweet Baby), and ‘This Romeo Ain’t Got Julie Yet’. It’s been thirty-two years since Diamond Rio’s debut album and the band still sounds fresh with Marty’s vocals strong as ever. Diamond Rio was amazing, they sounded really good, even after all these years! The venue itself was decent, cleanish and lots of places to sit. The sound wasn't good which was a bummer for the cost of the tickets, but overall it was a good experience.

This was my 6th overall time seeing what I consider my favorite overall band! The vocals live were were just as good as what I remember back in the 1990s when they were pumping out those Top 40 Hits one after another. I'm so glad we drove from St. Louis to Kentucky to see them "One more Time". Very, very impressed. Loved the added cover music they included in their show.

My 4th time seeing Diamond Rio andI I just had to be front row and center this time. The sound, light and stage set up was right on the money! I got my money’s worth seeing Jimmy up close and personal on his Taxicaster solo. I would have paid more and given my memory 5 stars had they extended the performance just to have seen a couple of the medley songs in their entirety. Memorable moment, when Marty called me out from the stage to turn around and show the audience my Diamond Rio shirt!

These guys sound amazing. Just like the albums from 20 years ago. Two criticisms: they play medleys of a lot of their hits. It’s cool to hear all the tunes, but my personal preference would be to hear the full track, even if that means some hits get missed. Also, we heard them play in Frankfort last year and this show had the exact same set list. Would like a little variety for those of us who go to multiple shows. Truth be told, those are pretty nit picky criticisms because we had a blast and completely enjoyed the show.
