Minitallica

Geoffrey and AJ are cousins and can't remember a time they weren't rockin together. Dad/Uncle Jason Surratt (highly talented musician), most recently of Moonshine Sorrow, has taught them their whole lives and continues to work with them daily. Kaden has been singing outdoor, private, and Holiday shows with his Dad's band Knucklehead, formerly Jester, since he was barely 6 yrs old.One day while accompanying his mom, booking a show for his Dad's band, they met Jason (Geoffrey's dad, Aj's uncle), also booking a show. They got talking and within a couple weeks Kaden was brought on as MINITALLICA's lead vocalist and shortly after that he began to learn guitar (thanks to Jason) to help with some of those double guitar parts Metallica is so famous for. In Jan of 2013, after a year and a half of searching, Minitallica added Wyatt Walters on bass and finally hit full strength. The four boys have become excellent friends and enjoy spending time together when they aren't practicing as well. All four are unbelievably talented, not to mention adorable(I mean cool), and full of charisma and stage presence. Its so obvious they LOVE what they are doing. Their first two shows... Halloween and New Years Eve, were PACKED and very well received. So much talk and anticipation followed their live radio interview with Cory Ford on KCRR and an awesome interview and full page photo in the Waterloo Courier, that people couldn't wait to see them in action! They had a busy first spring and summer playing a variety of outdoor shows and fairs, including opening for acts such as The Goodyear Pimps, Hairball and Saliva! More live network TV and radio interviews followed the summer's success. After NYE 2012 their first mini documentary was completed a longer documentary style segment about the boys was filmed in June and aired on Arts Outlook in July of 2013. Their second Spring and summer, 2013 they played 17 shows all over Eastern Iowa. The boys are hard at work improving and adding to their Metallica play list, as well as adding songs from some other popular metal bands such as, Slayer, Megadeth, Black Sabbath and Pantera. In Nov of 2013 the boys shot their first ever music video at The Hub in Cedar Falls. They also debuted and began selling their first official kick a$$ Minitallica T-shirts. (available for purchase). It was EPIC and they proved to everyone there that they truly are... The FUTURE of METAL...Watch here for upcoming dates!!! UPDATE: New Bass player John Fowler joined in January replacing Wyatt, who now lives in Waukee. John has quick blended right in with the other boys. He is wicked talented not only on bass, but on guitar as well! The Spring and summer of 2014 have been great! Playing shows all over Iowa... Des Moines, McGregor, and Grafton Ia, as well as many events in Waterloo and Evansdale, including My Waterloo Days. They also have shows on the schedule this year in La Porte City, Okoboji and as far as Sioux City! The boys have been bowing audiences away with their adult like talent and poise for the stage! Interest is building and there is a huge buzz going about the boys. They are on the brink of even bigger and better things. Whats even better is they are loving every minute of it.
