About The Proclaimers
The Proclaimers are a Scottish band composed of identical twins Charlie and Craig Reid. They are best known for their songs Letter From America and I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles) which became the theme song to the film Benny & Joon, and to the charity event the Terry Fox Run . Also they joined in with the Comic Relief version, Little Britain and Phoenix nights, started and they helped finish.
At the beginning of their musical careers, producers were wary of the strong accent prevalent in their songs. Rumor has it, Charlie and Craig refused to tone down their Scottish brogue and, consequently, wrote the song, Throw the R Away.
