Ricky Skaggs

I thoroughly enjoyed hearing Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder at the Lucas Theatre as part of the 2024 Savannah Music Festival. The show was absolutely top-notch. World-class bluegrass musicians, these guys are at the top of their game! The show was very well-run and the venue was beautiful. Can't wait till Ricky comes back to town!

Went to the afternoon show and was surprised by an opening act (The Old Dominion Barn Dance) that lasted almost twice as long as the main act I'd paid to see. One hour would've been OK - I support local talent. But 1 hr. 45 min. was far too self-indulgent and a disservice to the paying audience. With that said, Skaggs is an icon, a giant of bluegrass, and it was an honor to see him and his great band play.

Such an amazing show that really got my wife and I in the Christmas spirit. Ricky and his family are so talented and you can tell how much they love the Lord and each. Our first time seeing them and we have decided to make the Christmas show an annual must do for us. I can’t wait to see just his bluegrass show as well. Thank you Skaggs family!

Amazing! I would’ve loved to hear some of his songs from years ago tho. I love how he featured every single one of his band members and let them have their moment. I will go see him every opportunity I can.

What a night! It wasn't a concert of his hits but a true musician's workshop on bluegrass and gospel. It was less about Ricky Skaggs the Star and more about Ricky Skaggs' love of music and his band of expert musicians. It was something special. To have my 79 yr old dad with me, beaming and toe tapping and taking it all in like a kid at Christmas is an amazing memory I'll cherish. And you played Uncle Pen which was the ONLY song my dad was hoping for!! ❤️❤️ Everyone should be so lucky to have had this experience. Thank you! 🎼💖

The Ricky Skaggs concert at The Boot Barn Hall in Gainesville , Ga was wonderful . I have always liked and enjoyed his music and then for him to talk about Jesus Christ was as they say , icing on the cake .

The concert was a special birthday present from a friend and my first time to see Ricky Skaggs 'live' - what a treat - I love the bluegrass and gospel they play. Ricky has a group of super musicians - great talent! We had a fantastic time!

Ricky and the guys played their hearts out! They were phenomenal ! Great little venue, but the staff (aka cell phone police )there is abrasive and more concerned about what people are doing with their phones than anything else. 🙄

Concert was excellent, especially the opening act, Jerry Allen. Hope to see him and his band at other events soon. Venue was ok, but the view was obstructed in many locations. Also, the sound didn't carry well in the back. Overall, though a great event! David Wallace neonexpress@hotmail.com

Ricky and his band are outstanding musicians. The whole performance was very tight. Ricky was outspoken about his faith in Jesus and one of the band members spoke about how God saved him from drinking.

Great venue and great concert! Really enjoyed RIcky and Kentucky Thunder. Loved when he sang that song w/o accompaniment that his dad sang to him. It was so touching and demonstrated his amazing talent. We will definitely go and see him again when he comes to our area. Excellent show!!!

This band just gets better and better. Billy Contreras (fiddle) and Jake Workman (guitar) are unbelievable. Ricky is a living legend. Vocal trio will send chills down your spine. These guys are at the top of the bluegrass tier! You will never regret going to see them, no matter how pricey the ticket or less-than-ideal the venue!

OUTSTANDING!!! I LOVE THIS BROTHER IN CHRIST!!! YES. HE IS AS GREAT A MUSICIAN AS HIS FATHER IS AS GREAT A WELDER!!! BLESSINGS!!! THE FACT THAT HE IS MARRIED TO SHARON WHITE 40+ YEARS ONLY CONFIRMS MY FAITH IN HIM & HER AS BELIEVERS!!! I WOULD SEE HIM/HER IN CONCERT AT " THE RIVER OF JORDAN " IF THAT WAS/IS AN OPTION!!!

Ricky Skaggs was extremely warm, personable and presented friendly and caring. He was a top notch musician and performer! We left the concert super happy with a joyful, lasting feeling. I recommend Everyone should see his concert for a rewarding exper!,😍🤩

Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder were magnificent! What amazing musicians! But too bad about the opening band and the dreadful soundtrack between bands. If we ever go to another concert at RBCC, we’ll be sure to show up an hour late.

Wonderful show start to finish! The acoustics were quite good in this old movie theater that has been renovated into a concert venue! All of the music was crisp and clear and I loved the variety of songs from various stages of Ricky’s career!

They were all incredible just as I had known they would be. Growing up in Nashville in the 60's and 70's, I remember when Ricky Skaggs came on the music scene. He and all his guys are such talented musicians.

After quad bypass surgery, Ricky Skaggs emerges with Kentucky Thunder as champion of those 'Ancient Tones' (2000 Grammy Award for Bluegrass Album of the Year)! Would love to see the entire setlist posted! Exquisite performances by all 7 band members! Audience and band members alike delighted in a wonderful evening of song.

I commented to a friend the morning after the show that there was probably the most musical talent on one stage that I’ve seen in over 550 lifetime concerts! Bluegrass is not my genre but I can appreciate good music when I hear it. The band interacted well with the audience and it was nice to see Ricky outside the front of the venue prior to showtime!

The best bluegrass I have ever seen, so tight and dynamic and fun! Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder are top-notch! Jake Workman on guitar was unbelievable in particular. Hope to see them play many more times! Tickets were pricey, but absolutely worth it - I would have paid more, for the quality of the musical show I got to see!
